Path Clearing

Path clearing is an important activity and one that has been carried out over many years. It contributes to the charitable aims of the Ramblers, is an opportunity to improve the walking environment and is of benefit to all walkers. Look at the pictures on this page to see what can be achieved in one session!

Cleared path

In the winter of 2008 ⁄ 09, our small band of volunteers cleared paths in the parishes of Alderholt, Chalbury, Steeple and Wareham St. Martin, which gives an idea of the variety of locations where the work is carried out, although you might be surprised to learn that the pictures on this page, from a path clearing in February 2010, were taken about 2 miles from the Square in Bournemouth town centre.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have any path clearing activities planned as we do not have a member wishing to organise them. If you would like to help us in this way, please ask us more about this role.

Local Authority Responsibility

Members are encouraged to report any problems they encounter to the local highway authority, please see our Rights of Way page.
